I will be using the Offy 360 Dual port intake. I am using a 1978 MGB body that I will
convert over to Chrome bumper specs. I will use an older chrome bumper rack and pinion
with two U joints. The rear will be stock with a panhard bar or a four point linkup the
elimate side deflection of the rear end. I will be using poly bushings through out. I am
planning on using the stock MGB rear end as the tranny I have has a .63 over drive. I will
at a later date change out the tranny and rear end for a tranny with .73 overdrive and a
narrowed Ford 8 inch with 3.23 gears. I will use the RV8 headers and run dual exhast. I
will be using the early Ford Falcon radiator as it is a bolt in situation. I am using a
BOP 3/4 speed bell housing with a hydraulic throw out bearing. I will retain the stock
hydraulics for both the clutch and bracks. I have used motor mounts that aloow mounting
the engine as low and as far back as possible. These are from Glen Trownery (sp) and
designed for use with air conditioning. I do not anticipate the need for a hood scoop.

The finished car represents the experience and dedication of a specialist MG workshop,
drawing from the factory RV8 model and improving the concept of a classic model brought
into the nineties by careful planning and clever engineering, also drawing upon the
principles racing experience. Although all the work carried out at the complex at
Marryatville is to the same high standard the specific vehicle depicted here is a credit
to the team in that it was produced in just three months and included many new
innovations, and further that all the paint, panel, chassis, engine and electrical work
was done in house.
Chassis
rust free '78 American import converted to RHD using our carbon fibre dash with the front

standard front suspension - set to original design height (chrome bumper), negative camber
conversion (altered crossmember not wishbones) incorporated and heavier anti sway bar
fitted. Front springs slightly heavier rating Vehicle lowered 1 inch and maintaining
regulatory ground clearance of 4.. All bushes replace with polyurethane SuperPro bushes.
Brakes

calipers piston area virtually identical to the standard 2 spots thus maintaining brake
balance. pad area increased substancially chosen vehicle used has brake booster standard
fitment original dual circuit master cylinder resleeved in stainless steel and rekitted
rear brakes new linings and wheel cylinders all new brake lines and hoses and fittings
Motor

I bought my '74 GTV8 last summer from a nice fellow in Detroit who suddenly took up an
interest in Mopars. It had been converted ~5 years ago by Rob Medynski at MGTs in New
Jersey. Just a really immaculate job. I changed around a few things over the winter,
mostly relating to suspension and electrics. Car is very much stock-looking but for the
Panasport 15" wheels. It could probably be confused pretty easily with a factory V8
(there are factory-type V8 badges front & rear), at least from the exterior. The motor
is a Rover 4.2, which is mated to your basic good old TR8 gearbox. The heads were ported
and polished by Woody Cooper; 9.75 CR; the bigger Vitesse valves and uprated valve springs
were added. Edelbrock Performer intake, milled at a slight angle for hood clearance.
Chrome bumper car, plain old chrome bumper x-member. Hood clearance is close but it does
clear! Partially for this reason, there are steady bars on each side of the motor, tying
the beast down to the frame rails. MGC 3.07 rear with Quaife limited-slip installed. Wire
wheel rear allows getting a bit more rubber under there (195/60R15) than might otherwise
be the case, without flaring the fenders. Hopkinson sway bar kit; composite leaf springs;
rear Spax. No intermediate shaft on the steering pinion -- it is simply a CB rack with an
RB pinion attached, and the stock column has been shortened and re-angled. Mallory vac.
advance distributor; on a tip, I used the one for a Buick 215. Block-hugger headers,
Jet-Hot coated; 2-1/4" single-pipe SS exhaust. Stock B brakes with drilled discs, no
servo. Engine-driven flex fan. Radiator is 3" deeper than stock (goes to bottom of
the x-member. Have not had overheating problems even in hot weather; the electric fans do
of course kick in around-town, though. No air dams, fender flares, or that kind of stuff.
The car is stock Teal Blue. Just have the stock seats -- they were recently rebuilt and
they are fine. Scrounged a 140mph speedo from a C, had it rebuilt to work here. Rob had
inserted a lot of soundproofing material and the car is rather quiet. All in all, trying
to keep the car very understated and low-key. Sure runs well. Idles almost silently,
smooth as glass, at 600rpm, which is a bit surprising as there is something of a cam in
there. Goes absurdly fast when you put your foot down, handles like a dream, and stops on
a dime. No complaints at the moment, other than I am a little tired of paying for
high-test! I guess I should figure out how to post a couple of pictures online. But I
don't know if the car, being quite a bit plainer looking than some of the V8s, would be of
much interest, except that it is certainly a testament to Rob's crisp execution.

Car is sorted out and runs great! It weighs 2900 lbs vs. 2850 for original. With aluminum heads it would be 50 lbs lighter. This car was meant to have a Ford small block.
Like I said, I'm dreaming. I recall seeing a picture of one with a 454 in Maine. It was the chrome bumper variety. I'd like feed back from anyone whose done a Chevy small block conversion. The late model MGB is really cool but, wow I could have had a V8
HAVEN'T STARTED SO WON'T HAVE ANY ANSWERS YET.
Adjustable strut type shocks on all 4 corners, Independent rear suspension from RX7, Disk brakes all around. Rectangular tube exhaust under floor pan for ground clearance. All kinds of fun stuff.
Hope this works!
1963 Buick 215, 10:25to1, Isky Cam, Ported&Polished Heads, Roller Chain, Custom Block Headers jet hot coated, remote oil filter in r-fender, all wires re-routed behind fender, Comp9 fuse panel mounted under dash, custom wiring harness, custom motor mounts, dropped steering shaft, fiberglass rear leaf springs on stock rear end. This car was converted in mid 80s before many current accessories were available. Engine bay was modified heavy due to early 63 model. A square box was originally built in the transmission tunnel for the slave cyl. but being removed to go to hyd. throw out bearing. The car was driven for 15 years but is currently under going a ground up restro and should be completed in late summer early fall. All componets have been sand blasted, painted and either rebuilt or replaced with new where necessary.
Car looks stock except for slight bulge of the bonnet, similar to the Rv8,and dual exhaust. Stock suspension except for the urethane bushings throughout, Stock rear end except for the V-8 gear set, installed ratio is 3.07. All guages work, tach was recallibrated , found correct Smith Speedometer that works with the 3.07 gears, interior is all original. Camaro v-6 radiator, turned sideways, with dual cooling fans works great. More than 8,000 miles and no problems, just lotsa fun!!!!
Remote oil filter, 215 stock four barrel intake, Isky 262 cam , Did test between block huggers and RV8 headers the RV8 produce about 15 to 20 more horse power call Andys MGB v8 Parts for documented results 1-888-923-7062.
205X65x15" wheels and tires....tube shocks on the rear....chevy 10 bolt rear end with 3.73 gear ratio....custom radiator...MSD ignition....etc....just love it....
Note there are 2 pages of photos in photobucket link. VERY fast and fun car. MANY tricks and surprises, gets whoops, hollers and wows anytime I drive it. Have 1600 miles on it now, needs just a few minor TLC things here and there, but mostly done. Great parade car, planning on building a Lamborghini next, don't drive the "B-Type Speedster" MGB much any more, just sits in garage. May rally it in the spring, but not as interested as I once was; want to build something else cool. Have a great one - email is cwweigle@hotmail.com phone is 803-649-9813, and yes, I'll sell it. $7000 cash and carry before warm weather gets here and I change my mind!! (:>
